We offer health checks to:
- All new patients.
- Patients who have not consulted in the last three years.
- Patients aged 75 and over.
The doctors are available to provide private certificates and medical examinations for special purposes eg elderly drivers, HGV drivers, pre-employment checks, fitness to travel etc. In general most of these requests fall outside the services of the NHS. This means that they do not take priority over routine NHS services and are chargeable. Where a charge is appropriate you will be advised. Our practice policy is to keep all patient charges to a minimum. In the case of life assurance examinations these costs will be borne by the policy provider. Where possible we will ensure all such requests are completed within 20 working days.
All adult blood tests will be by appointment only effective 1 November, 2018. Walk-in clinics will no longer be available. To book a blood test please call the Booking Hotline:

If you require vaccinations for travel click here to download our travel questionnaire which we would ask you to complete as fully as possible and return to the practice at your earliest convenience. You can also click here to complete the questionnaire online.
Please complete this fully (a separate questionnaire is required for each individual traveller) and return to the Practice before your appointment to allow us to review the information provided.
PLEASE MAKE a 20 MINUTE TRAVEL APPOINTMENT to see the Practice Nurse.
It is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to make this appointment in time for your foreign travel. If you do not contact us with sufficient notice we may not be able to fit you in before you travel. In this situation you are advised to visit a specialist travel clinic. Bear in mind that some vaccines take 2-4 weeks to build protection; and some vaccines require several doses over a period of weeks or months. If you are pregnant, or likely to be pregnant when you travel, your needs will be more complex so please book your appointment even earlier.
If Hepatitis A, Typhoid and Diphtheria/Tetanus/Polio vaccines are required these are free of charge.
If you would like Hepatitis B vaccines (and we have sufficient stock) these cost £37.50 per dose (payable at your appointment) and a course may take several weeks/months
We do not offer Yellow Fever, Japanese Encephalitis, Rabies or Meningitis ACWY vaccines. If these are required you will need to contact a specialist travel clinic.
Please bring any travel and childhood vaccination records to your appointment.
Please bring your travel itinerary to your appointment to establish whether you will be in a malarious area, and if so which medication is recommended. If anti-malarial medication is advised you may be able to source this from certain pharmacies. Alternatively we can supply a private prescription at a cost of £18 per traveller and you can then purchase the medication at a pharmacy of your choice.
The NHS website www.travelhealthpro.org.uk is an excellent source of information on how to reduce your risk of travel related illness. The Nurse can answer any questions you may have at your appointment.
Payment for both vaccines and private prescriptions should be made at the time of administration. Payment can be made by card or cash and should be made payable to West Timperley Medical Centre. A receipt will be issued.
Please ensure you read this leaflet prior to attending your appointment to have your coil fitted.
